Erik Nelson, 95, Dies; Services held Saturday
Erik Nelson of Mora died at the Kanabec hospital
Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the age of 95 years, nine
months and 28 days. Funeral services for Mr. Nelson
were held from the Akkerman Mortuary on Saturday,
Feb. 3, with the Rev. Leonard Turnquist officiating.
Pallbearers were Nels Strandlund, Henning Sundman,
Elmer Wahlstrom, Victor Peterson, Walfred Danielson
and Elwood Jewell. Interment was in the Riverside
Cemetery at Brunswick.
Erik Nelson was born April 3, 1866, in Sweden. He was
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Hendrickson. He came to
America in July 2, 1892 and settled in the Brunswick
community where he resided until he moved to Mora
about six years ago. Since moving to Mora he made his
home at the Jewell Rest Home.
Mr. Nelson was married to Anna Caroline Goranson in
Sweden on April 12, 1890. They were the parents of
three sons and two daughters. Mr. Nelson farmed until
his retirement.
He is survived by one son, leonard, of Cummings, North
Dakota, and one son-in-law, Oscar Tiden, of Mora,
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preced in death by two sons, George and Henry,
two daughters, Agnes and Matilda, as well as his wife,
Anna.
